After Blue Mbombo’s Instagram posts about a Rolex and its valuation certificate, both she and Thami Ndlala have retreated from public discourse. Here’s what we know.
The ongoing conflict between Blue Mbombo and Thami Ndlala seems to have quieted down recently, following a social media exchange filled with documents that discussed a Rolex watch, a denial, and a retracted valuation certificate.
This latest episode revolves around a sequence of Instagram posts and Stories that Mbombo posted from mid to late October. The Citizen could not independently confirm the accuracy of the claims made within them.
Analyzing the posts
Mbombo posted an image featuring a green Rolex shopping bag paired with a gold gift box adorned with Rolex ribbons, captured in Waterfall City, Midrand. Her caption remarked that you “cannot spend your way into being wanted.”
Subsequent posts took a bolder stance. She expressed: “The obsession is louder than the rejection.” Another caption stated: “Imagine confusing rejection with theft.”
Many of her followers interpreted the posts as a commentary on the failure of wealth to procure genuine affection.

Regarding the valuation and recall email
Mbombo also posted a valuation certificate issued by Shemer Jewellers located in Bedfordview, Johannesburg, pertaining to a Rolex Oyster Perpetual Lady-Datejust in Oystersteel, featuring a dark grey dial and Jubilee bracelet.
This certificate is addressed to Thandi Blue Mbombo and indicates a valuation of R137 800. Certain serial and reference information was partially obscured in the post.
An email accompanying the valuation stated that it was sent “for insurance purposes.” A follow-up email, dated 30 June, indicated that the previous message had been retracted, instructing that its contents be ignored entirely and not to be relied upon for any action.
Mbombo commented on the retraction email: “Imagine thinking your money could buy you love, only for the investment to yield absolutely no returns. I’d want a refund too.”
Proxy conflicts
Gossip blogger Musa Khawula has been quite derogatory, sharing alleged documents and assertions that cast Mbombo in a negative light concerning her disputes with the businessman. His outspoken support for Ndlala has led fans to speculate that he’s acting as a proxy while their legal matters remain unresolved.
Earlier in October, he reported that the Midrand Magistrate’s Court dismissed Mbombo’s criminal allegation against Ndlala on 29 September 2026, claiming she fabricated stories of physical abuse and threats to her child. He alleged she has a pattern of “extorting men” for lavish lifestyles, having attempted to secure R1 million from her former partner, Nokwane, to launch a salon, while Ndlala is pursuing R1 million in defamation damages.
Khawula also shared a video clip in which Mbombo reportedly accused Ndlala of being mentally unstable after Nokwane allegedly expelled her from a villa, seized her belongings, and ceased financial support.
At the start of that month, he doxxed her by posting what seemed to be a certified copy of her South African smart ID.
Recently, he released what appeared to be police documentation alleging Ndlala had filed a theft report against her in August 2026 for purportedly stealing and selling his luxury watch. Subsequent claims suggested she attempted to get the watch appraised, which led the jewellers to retract their communications upon discovering it was reported as stolen. This development spurred her latest posts.
Around this same time, social media critic Chris Excel (@ChrisExcel102) targeted the influencer with comments stating: “Blue Mbombo, she once accused her ex-boyfriend Tebogo of GBV, she once lied that she was coerced into an abortion by a man. Now it’s Thami… all her life revolves around scandals that are harming men…”
Mbombo chose not to respond to the troll’s defamatory remarks, and at the time of writing, both parties have ceased their direct exchanges online.
