The latest surveillance footage from inside Wish restaurant on Florida Road was presented during the ongoing murder trial of seven individuals accused in the killings of rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and chef Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane at the Durban High Court.
The footage was introduced in court on Friday, 23 October 2026, contributing to the extensive digital and forensic evidence the prosecution is compiling to support its case. Police witness Constable Rajen Sanders testified and identified the fifth accused, Mhlaliseni Ndimande, as the individual seen in the video wearing a white T-shirt, shorts, and a black bucket hat.
According to Sanders’ testimony, the person believed to be Ndimande was frequently observed entering and exiting the restaurant while on his phone. He was notably seen seated near AKA’s party and remained in the venue when the gunfire erupted. Afterward, he allegedly paid his bill before exiting.
The prosecution relies on CCTV footage from various locations, including King Shaka International Airport, to detail the alleged activities of the accused both before and following the violent incidents in February 2023. Previous footage from the airport appeared to show a man following AKA and his group through the terminal, believed to be accused number four, Mziwethemba Gwabini.
Forensic fingerprint analysis is also part of the State’s evidence as it attempts to connect each of the seven defendants to the events of that night.
Despite the substantial amount of evidence presented, all seven individuals have asserted their innocence, each pleading not guilty. They face a total of 19 charges, which include two counts of murder, five counts of attempted murder, and conspiracy to commit murder.
