Makhadzi faced backlash for her excitement towards Davido
Makhadzi was overwhelmed with joy when she spotted the Nigerian music icon Davido at Loftus Stadium over the weekend.
The artist known for the hit “If” was entering the venue for the Scorpion Kings Live concert when the Limpopo-born singer expressed her admiration.
During this encounter, Makhadzi shouted one of his signature lines, “Money follow you,” in an attempt to catch his notice.
However, Davido seemed to overlook her as he passed by, a moment that led to a flurry of discussions online after the footage went viral.
Reactions from fans on social media varied significantly. One user from X humorously quipped, “Does she realize she’s famous too?” while another commented, “I watched that video, she’s so genuine for that.”
Others found amusement in her delivery of the lyrics.
“It’s not just what she said that’s amusing; it’s her Zulu accent when she exclaimed, ‘money fall on you,’” stated one fan.
Another supporter came to her defense, remarking, “She’s merely a fan, and I believe he recognizes her as well.”

Additionally, this isn’t the first occasion Makhadzi has tried to catch Davido’s attention.
In 2024, the Ma Gear hitmaker shared her experiences of reaching out to the Nigerian star multiple times through direct messages, yet she received no replies.
“I was sifting through my DMs. Please don’t laugh; I have been DMing @davido@diamondplatnumz saying hello my brother can we please collaborate. And no one responds. It’s been 5 years now. Each year I send over 12 messages. So you are not the only one struggling,” she wrote.
