The Political Killings Task Team (PKTT) of the South African Police Service has obtained a J50 warrant for the arrest of Fadiel Adams, leader of the National Coloured Congress and a Member of Parliament. He faces charges related to fraud and obstructing justice.
Authorities allege that Adams interfered with the investigation into the murder of ANC Youth League leader Sindiso Magaqa in 2017 by reaching out to Sibusiso Ncengwa, the individual convicted in the case, during a crucial phase of the investigation.
Adams was anticipated to turn himself in at the Cape Town Central Police Station on Monday, 4 May 2026; however, he did not show up. Efforts to find him have not been fruitful.
This warrant follows a series of public disputes between Adams and the task team, particularly after he asserted that new revelations from the hitman pointed to police involvement in the murder.
Thus far, Adams has not provided any public statement concerning the warrant. Police have called for his immediate surrender.
