Babylowsk1 Discusses How He Collaborated With A-Reece On “Bojack.” In the dynamic realm of South African hip-hop, where tracks circulate via WhatsApp and a powerful verse can reshape a song’s trajectory in an instant, emerging artist Babylowsk1 is revealing the backstory behind one of his notable partnerships.
The track “Bojack,” which features A-Reece, was released on March 27, 2026, and is currently gaining traction across streaming services. Babylowsk1 is offering a candid look into how a song he nearly discarded emerged as a prominent track.
The collaboration originated during an intense studio session spanning two days with producer Michael Tuohy, affectionately known as Mike. The pair created a series of tracks in rapid succession, with Babylowsk1 providing concepts while Tuohy quickly generated instrumentals.
“He was even saying while he was making these beats, like, ‘you’re really inspiring me,’” Babylowsk1 recalled. “‘Cause the beats you’re sending me, he was making them like 10 minutes, 5 minutes. Like I’m not overthinking beats no more.”
The atmosphere was charged with creativity, propelling both artists into an unrestrained workflow. However, not every track from that productive stint resonated with Babylowsk1 at first glance.
Upon laying down his verse for what eventually became “Bojack,” he was initially less than enthusiastic. “Me originally, I didn’t like my verse,” he admitted. “I told Mike, like, but I like the song. I like all these songs. I like almost every song I made, but I’m honest about them.” Among the group of tracks created, he placed “Bojack” near the bottom of his preferences, uncertain about its potential.
Rather than abandon it, he made a crucial call to share it with A-Reece. “And then he sends it through to Reece, and Reece loved the song,” Babylowsk1 recounted. “So he’s like, let me hop on this. That’s what he decided upon.”
This initial self-doubt transformed into a full-fledged collaboration. A-Reece contributed his distinctive introspective style, enhancing the already atmospheric production primarily crafted by Tuohy, along with input from RudeboyRack$ and others. The end product has sparked interest and conversation, earning numerous streams while marrying Babylowsk1’s energetic delivery with Reece’s refined artistry.
