The South African music scene has been abuzz asBandros has openly criticized fellow musicianDa Muziqal Chef for reportedly not showing up for a scheduled performance, despite having received the full payment. This incident has sparked conversations about professionalism and responsibility within the music community.
On his officialX (formerly Twitter)account, Bandros expressed his disappointment regarding an event that took place onSeptember 27. He recounted how a club owner invited him for a performance and allowed him to choose another artist to perform alongside him. Bandros opted to invite Da Muziqal Chef, a relationship he described as “my broer,” and he paid the agreed fee beforehand.
In his tweet, Bandros stated,
“Club X booked me and said I can bring another act for a gig back in 27 September. I agreed and paid @MuziqalChef the full amount and he did not pitch. Now the promoter wants a refund paid to Chef and Chef he’s ignoring my texts.”
The DJ and producer elaborated that the club had originally intended for him to perform withMdu aka TRP, but when Mdu was not available, he chose Da Muziqal Chef as a suitable replacement, anticipating that his friend would participate. Unfortunately, that did not happen.
“They wanted me & Mdu here bro, Mdu was unavailable then I suggested @MuziqalChef because he’s my broer but he didn’t show up,” he added.
Currently, Bandros is facing pressure from the club owner, who is requesting a refund due to Da Muziqal Chef’s absence. This situation has created tension between Bandros and the promoter, jeopardizing Bandros’ standing in the industry.
Responses from fans and fellow artists have been intense. Some have commended Bandros for his honesty and for calling out unprofessional behavior, while others have urged both artists to settle the issue privately, cautioning that public disputes could be detrimental to their careers.
As of now, Da Muziqal Chef has not addressed the claims or made a statement. His silence has led to growing speculation and concern among fans who valued the rapport and collaborations between the two artists.
The outcome of this dispute remains uncertain, but Bandros’ willingness to bring the matter to light highlights significant underlying issues within the music industry, reminding audiences that even prominent figures face difficulties offstage.
