Cassper Nyovest Expresses Outrage Over DJ Warras’ Murder Case

Cassper Nyovest did not hold back after finding out that Armindo Pacula, the man responsible for the murder of popular TV and radio figure DJ Warras was sentenced to 25 years in prison. On August 7, 2026, the rapper took to social media to voice his disappointment regarding this decision and to call for accountability from anyone who may have ordered the assassination.

In the plea agreement, Armindo Pacula admitted to being hired to execute the murder. The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) disclosed that Pacula received R25,000 to perform the act and was sentenced to 25 years in prison.

Cassper Nyovest questions the broader implications

For Cassper, the sentencing raised significant questions. He inquired whether Pacula disclosed who had hired him and the motivations behind it, suggesting that the penalty was insufficient given the severity of the crime.

“Did he tell them who sent him and why? I don’t think 25 years for taking a life is enough, honestly. Putting a family through such trauma and changing the rest of their lives permanently because of greed. The man did nothing to you; you didn’t even know him. I hate this so much!” the rapper stated.

Details on DJ Warras’ murder

DJ Warras, known officially as Warris Stock, lost his life in a shooting incident on December 16, 2025, outside the Zambezi building in the Johannesburg CBD. He had stopped his car to check on the building when a gunman approached and opened fire at close range before fleeing the scene.

In addition to his prominent media career, Stock was involved in a VIP security firm and co-owned a real estate business. Initial police investigations suggested that the killing was linked to disputes over local properties and hijacked buildings, indicating that his business pursuits could have made him a target.

Prior to his untimely death, Warras had announced plans for a significant return to music, with aspirations of venturing internationally. Additionally, he had secured a new hosting role for an upcoming Mzansi Magic show, Ngicel’iVisa, which was scheduled to premiere on September 30, just a few months before his death.
