The remix, which includes Cassper Nyovest, has gained significant traction across streaming platforms, with its official music video accumulating over six million views shortly after its release, marking it as one of the standout collaborations across genres this year.
“I heard that song (Aweh) and I was like, this song is brilliant, this song should be bigger and I was like let me try to put my stamp on it and see if it will go further. I called her and i asked her could you please give me the honour of trying something. And she was like obvious, you are the Don. And i recorded my verse live on Twitch,” Cassper shared. “My fans got to see me record music, and for this song to become so big, they actually saw me making it line for line. I was just freestyling, and it became what it is.”
Cassper’s method of recording a verse live for fans became a key part of the remix’s story, allowing listeners an inside look at the creative workflow and transforming routine promotion into an engaging experience. Portions of the livestream and recording session were shared widely online, increasing anticipation around the release.
Beyond mere statistics, the partnership between Cassper and Lordkez illustrates how contemporary collaborations can unfold in real-time: an artist discovers a song they admire, reaches out to the creator, and utilizes livestream platforms to engage with fans directly. For Lordkez’s Aweh, this approach transformed a poignant R&B number into a cross-genre favorite and provided fans with a narrative intertwined with the music.
