Chelsea is reportedly making plans to sign Maxence Lacroix from Crystal Palace, exploring the option of including one of four first-team defenders in the deal.
As stated by Softfootball, the club may propose Trevoh Chalobah, Tosin Adarabioyo, Axel Disasi, or Benoit Badiashile in a player-plus-cash arrangement to entice Palace.
The Chelsea management is focused on strengthening their backline for the upcoming season and sees Lacroix as a crucial addition. The French player has garnered attention for his speed, poise, and robust physicality, establishing himself as one of the most valued central defenders in the Premier League.

Among the defenders considered, Chalobah’s position is particularly precarious. Although he played frequently during the previous season and regained a spot in Chelsea’s first team, the 26-year-old is now in the last two years of his contract.
While discussions with Crystal Palace are still in the preliminary phase, Chelsea is optimistic that adding a seasoned defender to the equation could potentially lower the transfer fee and enhance their chances of acquiring Lacroix before the closure of the summer transfer window.
