The Bureau of Prisons did not clarify the reasons for Combs’ relocation to the new facility.
Controversial music executive Sean “Diddy” Combs, who received a sentence for prostitution-related offenses, has been moved to a different US prison following reports by the media about an alleged altercation and preferential treatment while incarcerated.
The 56-year-old was transitioned from the Fort Dix facility in New Jersey to Allenwood Low in neighboring Pennsylvania, as confirmed by a spokesperson from the Bureau of Prisons to AFP on Friday.
Both facilities are low-security federal penitentiaries for male inmates, yet Allenwood Low houses about 1,000 inmates, in contrast to the approximately 4,000 at Fort Dix.
Reports from US media indicated that Combs received treatment at a hospital for a head injury incurred during a fight with another inmate last weekend.
Additionally, in September, NBC News reported that Combs led a relatively luxurious existence at Fort Dix, having access to banned cellphones and alcohol.
The report also mentioned that Combs had individuals cooking and cleaning for him, along with someone providing him massages in a Chinese style.
The Bureau of Prisons did not clarify the rationale behind Combs’ transfer to the new facility.
“For privacy, safety, and security reasons, we do not discuss the conditions of confinement for any individual in our custody, including reasons for transfer,” a spokeswoman stated.
Combs was sentenced in 2025 after a scandalous trial that highlighted the alleged “freak-offs” he orchestrated: sexual marathons involving hired male escorts, his ex-girlfriend Casandra Ventura, and another unnamed woman.
Although he was acquitted by a jury of the most severe charges against him, including sex trafficking and racketeering, he was found guilty of two counts of transporting individuals across state lines for prostitution.
Combs is expected to be released from incarceration in March 2028.
