DJ Speedsta Launches Applications For Free DJ Training Program. DJ Speedsta is using his birthday to create an opportunity for emerging DJs to gain essential training and support in the music industry.

The renowned DJ and media figure, known as Lesego Nkaiseng, is celebrating his 34th birthday by offering four fully funded eight-week DJ courses via the DJ Speedsta Foundation. This initiative, named DJ 101 by DJ Speedsta, aims to provide young individuals with professional training, industry insights, and opportunities to connect with seasoned experts.
In announcing this initiative, Speedsta made the application process straightforward. Aspiring DJs must submit a brief 30-second video introducing themselves, sharing their location, and explaining their passion for DJing. Submissions should be sent via email to up2speedwithdjspeedster@gmail.com.
The application period commenced on Monday, 13 April, and will conclude on Monday, 27 April. Winners are set to be announced on Monday, 4 May, coinciding with Speedsta’s birthday festivities, through his Up To Speed podcast and on social media.
Participants who do not win one of the four course spots are still invited to join a DJ 101 workshop on Saturday, 9 May, which will feature industry experts and guest speakers, providing hands-on knowledge and skills. This workshop is open to all who enter.
“This whole thing is called DJ 101 by DJ Speedsta,” he expressed. “We’re having a full workshop with industry experts.”
Hailing from the Vaal Triangle, Speedsta has established a notable career within the South African hip hop scene that covers DJing, production, radio, and television. This latest program underscores his dedication to fostering opportunities for young creatives who may not have the means for traditional training.
With the application window now open, this initiative reflects not only a celebration of Speedsta’s birthday but also a significant contribution to the future of South Africa’s music industry.
