Emtee Records Responds to Speculation About Babygrlzae’s Exit. In the latest development in the ongoing South African hip hop conflict, Emtee Records has categorically denied rumors suggesting that its prominent artist Babygrlzae has left the label.
Emtee Records Responds to Speculation About Babygrlzae’s ExitThe label issued an official statement, prominently featuring the branding of both Emtee Records and Babyg!rlZae. The statement, titled “Official Response Statement,” directly addressed the rumors about the artist’s supposed exit.
“We are aware of the statement circulating regarding BABYG!RLZAE’s alleged departure from Emtee Records. At this stage, we maintain that this information is inaccurate and may have been issued by third parties managing the account, and does not reflect the true situation,” the statement declared.
The label emphasized that there had been no direct confirmation from Emtee concerning any separation. According to them, the last communication among the involved parties was amicable, indicating no signs of discord. The statement asserted that only Emtee is authorized to announce any contract changes, refuting any claims made by third parties. It concluded by affirming that Babygrlzae is still under contract with the label.
Meanwhile, Babygrlzae has openly shared her perspective on the ongoing situation.
In a straightforward and widely circulated statement, the artist conveyed her continued respect for Emtee, while alleging that his wife, Nicole Chinsamy, has played a role in shaping the narrative.
“I always wish the best for Emtee. I’ve got nothing but love for him,” she stated. “But this is coming from Nicole, not Emtee. As far as I’m concerned, she has access to his phone. She blocked me on both his account and the Emtee Records account. I haven’t heard from him since Monday, after I posted that TikTok. I believe she’s the one posting these things.”
Babygrlzae claimed that communication with Emtee ceased shortly after she uploaded a TikTok video earlier this week, which she suspects may have sparked the conflict. She asserts that she has been blocked from both his personal and label accounts, and that the claims regarding her departure emerged without his direct involvement.
For the time being, the label stands by its assertion that Babygrlzae is part of Emtee Records. The artist, for her part, continues to express her allegiance to Emtee, while making a distinction between him and those who she believes are managing his online messaging.
