Emtee’s Father Addresses Nandi Ndathane Amid Intense Family Conflict. The situation involving rapper Mthembeni “Emtee” Ndevu has escalated, as his father, Lumikile Ndevu, publicly comments on the family feud that has emerged on social media and entered legal channels.
Emtee’s Father Addresses Nandi Ndathane Amid Intense Family ConflictRecent videos have circulated online depicting a tense exchange regarding the keys to a Hyundai H-1, involving members of Emtee’s family, his girlfriend Nandi Ndathane Moncho, and her mother. What started as a familial disagreement has now led to arrests, applications for protection orders, and various allegations.
Emtee’s father is now sharing his side of the story, as reported by TIMESLIVE.
Ndevu stated that the conflict took root shortly after Emtee’s arrest last Tuesday for allegedly violating a protection order obtained by his estranged wife, Nicole Chinsamy.
He recounted that Nandi and her mother visited the family’s apartment that evening to discuss how they could facilitate Emtee’s release.
“We told them we had no plans at that moment,” Ndevu explained.
He claims he proposed that Nandi return Emtee’s clothing, identification documents, bank cards, and other items, enabling the family to manage the situation while Emtee remained incarcerated. According to him, the parties came to an initial agreement.
However, upon returning the next day for the items, Ndevu describes a sharp decline in the situation. The family allegedly faced locked doors, insults, and threats.
Ndevu mentioned that they reported the incident to the police before issuing a demand letter and contacting a tracking company to find the H-1. The vehicle was ultimately located on Winnie Mandela Drive, where the video confrontation was filmed.
The family managed to leave with the vehicle, but it seems Emtee’s other belongings, such as his phone, driver’s license, clothing, and bank cards, were left behind.
For Ndevu, the issue extends beyond just the vehicle. He is particularly worried about how Emtee’s financial obligations will be met during his incarceration, especially concerning rent and the needs of their children who depend on him.
The situation has also imposed considerable stress on Emtee’s parents, who, according to Ndevu, have repeatedly traveled from Matatiele in the Eastern Cape to Midrand to support their son throughout various court hearings.
Nandi has filed her own application for a protection order, claiming that Ndevu verbally assaulted her outside the Rivonia complex where she and Emtee had stayed.
She alleges that he tried to force his way through the door, labeled her an “opportunist” and “gold digger,” and threatened to “show her what he’s made of.”
Ndevu firmly rejects these claims.
“She is not telling the truth,” he asserted, insisting that the family’s goal was solely to retrieve their son’s possessions.
He described the protection order situation involving himself and his wife as profoundly distressing, marking their first encounter with such an ordeal.
“I’ve never even stolen a sweet from the shop,” Ndevu remarked. “That thing is affecting us, me and my wife.”
The rapper’s father also accused Nandi’s mother of approaching artists while pretending to be Emtee’s mother to solicit financial help for his bail.
Ndevu emphasized that Emtee already has legal representation managing the situation.
From his perspective, the family’s challenges increased significantly after Emtee’s relationship with Nandi began, claiming that “everything went from bad to worse.”
The parents plan to visit Emtee at Johannesburg Correctional Centre this week, continuing their support for their son as they navigate this complex situation.
Efforts to get comments from Nandi and Emtee’s manager were unsuccessful at the time of the initial report.
As the legal proceedings unfold, the viral videos represent just one facet of a much larger conflict. What started as an attempt to retrieve a vehicle and personal items has transformed into a public dispute characterized by contrasting narratives, accusations of aggression, dishonesty, and provocation from both sides.
At the heart of these developments is Emtee, whose ongoing legal issues have placed additional pressure on his family as they strive to support him amid expanding public scrutiny.
