From Heartache to Healing: Sbahle Mpisane's Path After Itu Khune
Fitness personality and television figure Sbahle Mpisane has opened up about her previous romantic involvement with Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune.

During a recent segment on the Engineer Your Life podcast, Sbahle discussed the serious car accident she endured several years ago, as well as its effects on her relationship with Khune.

She stated that despite experiencing memory loss at that time, Khune was a steadfast presence, providing support during her hospitalization.

In 2020, during an episode of KwaMamKhize’s reality program, Sbahle discussed the end of their relationship.

“Me and him didn’t fight over it. There were no issues. We said goodbye. The guy was fully supportive. He called me every day when I was in hospital. But then, because of my amnesia, I forgot why I fell in love with him. He was there for me throughout,” she shared.

Sbahle mentioned that their geographical separation also affected their relationship, as Khune resided in Johannesburg while she was in Durban.

“I need someone who’ll give me a hug and kiss me. I needed more of him, but he was just not available. So, it was best for me to say bye and wish him the best to find someone who is going to give him a child because I don’t have time to fall pregnant,” she noted.

Though their breakup was amicable and devoid of conflict, Sbahle acknowledged feeling resentment towards her survival from the accident, which also contributed to her decision to part ways.

Khune has since progressed in his life, marrying and starting a family, while Sbahle’s recent comments have elicited various reactions on social media.
