The memorial service for Lieutenant Colonel Thamsanqa Livingstone Mzimvubu, a detective commander with the South African Police Service (SAPS), is currently underway in the Moyeni Administrative Area of Libode, Eastern Cape, his birthplace.
Attendees include Lieutenant General Vuyisile Ncata, the Eastern Cape Provincial Commissioner, along with senior police officials, staff, family, and community members.
At the age of 59, Mzimvubu was serving as the Detective Branch Commander at Madeira SAPS when he lost his life in the line of duty on April 22, 2026, in New Brighton, Ngangelizwe, Mthatha.
