Investigation Ongoing as Bodies of Zandile Tshuma and Daughters Returned to Zimbabwe for Burial

admin August 1, 2026 2 minutes read

The final journey is underway for Nothabo Zandile Tshuma and her two young daughters. Their tragic deaths in England have left families and communities in mourning across two continents.

The remains of the 42-year-old mother and her daughters, Natalie, 15, and Nala, 5, are being repatriated to Zimbabwe. This follows an agonizing period of investigation into the circumstances surrounding their murders.

Family members have indicated that the bodies are anticipated to arrive in Bulawayo on Sunday, 2 August 2026. They will be taken to a local funeral service before a church service and a joint burial take place on Tuesday, 4 August.

This return signifies a new and painful chapter in an unfolding case that has garnered significant attention in both the UK and Zimbabwe.

The three victims were found dead on 6 July 2026 at their residence in Great Denham, close to Bedford, after relatives expressed concerns when they had not been seen for days.

Post-mortem examinations confirmed that the mother and her daughters suffered deaths due to blunt force trauma, with severe head injuries cited as the cause.

Authorities allege that Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma, 45, also known as Mark, the husband and father, had departed the UK via Heathrow Airport before the bodies were discovered.

He was later apprehended in Johannesburg, South Africa, and is currently in custody.

UK prosecutors have charged Tshuma with three counts of murder; he also faces an unrelated charge related to an illegal firearm possession in South Africa as extradition proceedings are underway.

The community in Bedford, where the family lived, has expressed deep sorrow over the incident.

This week, nearly 500 people attended a memorial service in Bedford to honor a mother celebrated for her commitment to her daughters.

Friends and community members spoke highly of Zandile, describing her as a nurturing and compassionate person. Natalie and young Nala were remembered for their bright spirits and kindness, bringing joy to all who knew them.

As their remains are transported back to Zimbabwe, family and friends are preparing to offer their final farewells.

While arrangements for the funeral in Bulawayo are being finalized, investigators continue to navigate the legal challenges surrounding the accused, marking one of the most heartrending family tragedies to arise from Bedford in recent years.

For grieving relatives, the return of Zandile, Natalie, and Nala to their homeland signifies a chance to celebrate their lives together while they pursue answers and justice.
