Kaya 959 has introduced an updated on-air schedule that features the headline-making debut of DJ Fresh on the breakfast show, alongside thrilling new talents and the return of beloved familiar voices.
This revised timetable puts significant focus on the expanding weekend programming of the station, bolstered by Sweetness Motsepe, Dee Nkomo, and Nonn Botha. These hosts inject new energy, regional insight, musical credibility, and audience connection into a line-up crafted to engage listeners throughout the day.
DJ Fresh along with Thato Mataboge are scheduled to host Kaya Breakfast starting July 1.
Having a career that spans over thirty years, DJ Fresh boasts an impressive professional background. He has made his mark on many of the country’s premier stations, with experiences at Metro FM, YFM, 5FM, and 947, to name a few.
Programme Manager Maekanya Morotoba shares that the revamped schedule ushers in a significant new chapter for the station: “The announcement of DJ Fresh was a major moment for Kaya 959, but it was also the start of a bigger story.
“We are now showing listeners the full picture. This is a schedule with pace, personality, and purpose. We are excited to welcome Sweetness Motsepe from You FM and Dee Nkomo from Capricorn FM, and to welcome Nonn Botha back to the Kaya 959 family. Their addition strengthens the station’s connection with listeners and adds even more character to our weekend sound.”
The station has reached a remarkable 1.62 million listeners, with 68% engaging during their commute, solidifying its status as one of Gauteng’s leading media outlets.
