Khuzani Mpungose to Host Grand Farewell Concert at Carnival City

Khuzani Mpungose Bids Goodbye with Spectacular Farewell Concert at Carnival City

Renowned Maskandi musician Khuzani Mpungose has declared that his recent performance at Carnival City in Johannesburg marks his final appearance at the venue.

During the Blue Nation Music Festival he hosted on Saturday, the artist, known as “Khuba,” informed attendees that the subsequent edition of the Blue Nation event is set for the Durban International Convention Centre in KwaZulu-Natal.

The festival garnered significant support from fans; however, several notable artists were absent from the lineup. Missing performers included Amafikizolo, Limit Nala, Menzi, and Quality Biyela.

While addressing the audience, Khuzani expressed his appreciation for the backing he received:

“First of all, we would like to thank all of you in the Blue Nation for supporting your own. The love and dedication you showed during this event are amazing. You have made it clear that this is not just a momentary event but a long-standing one; we are a big family that grows day by day.”

He pointed out that the artists who could not make it had communicated issues such as travel delays and last-minute flight cancellations. Some reportedly reached the venue just as the event was concluding, while others were still on their way.

Khuzani also mentioned venue constraints as a primary factor for shifting away from Carnival City.

“We have seen that we need a major change. We wish to find a venue that will allow us to continue until dawn, as forcing people to leave at midnight does not align with our vision of providing full entertainment. We also ask that the venues we hire cooperate with us so we can grow the event properly,” he stated.

Additionally, he noted that many fans remained outside the venue from start to finish, eager to gain entry.

In closing, Khuzani thanked everyone who contributed to the success of the event, including artists, instrumentalists, security teams, media personnel, venue staff, the Nyathi Foundation, and supporters.
