After the highly anticipated release of Netflix’s new show, The Polygamist, South African actress Kwanele Mthethwa conveyed her heartfelt appreciation for the widespread international acclaim she has garnered.
Based on Sue Nyathi’s book, the series is not only sparking conversations locally but has also attracted global attention, including that of Hollywood star Taraji P. Henson, who revealed she watched all 22 episodes in just one day.
Kwanele Mthethwa expresses gratitude to her supporters
Kwanele Mthethwa, aged 30, gained recognition for her role as Ayanda in Mzansi Magic’s Isithembiso back in 2009. Her popularity surged with the debut of The Polygamist in June 2026.
In the series, she portrays Matipa Nkosi, a driven and highly educated professional who becomes intricately involved in the life of the lead character, wealthy businessman Jonasi Gomora (played by S’dumo Mtshali).
On her official Instagram, Kwanele conveyed her appreciation with the following message:

She further added,
