Amapiano artist Dudu “Lady Du” Ngwenya has re-entered the dating scene, having established a new relationship with Afro House musician DJ Kashief, known in the past as DJ Hectic.
Kashief, who has been active in the music scene for almost ten years, fulfills several roles in Lady Du’s life.
In addition to being her partner, he also serves as her road manager and performance DJ, creating a blend of personal and professional collaboration.
A friend of the couple revealed that their bond has been both steady and serious for a considerable duration.
“They live together, and they work together. He is a quiet guy, a very great person. With her bold personality, I guess they are a balance,” the source stated, noting that they have been together for over a year.
Lady Du recently shared moments from their romance when she celebrated Kashief’s birthday, surprising him with gifts and a striking white calendar cake, subtly affirming their relationship.
This newfound romance follows Lady Du’s public breakup with Isibaya actor Andile Mxakaza, to whom she was once engaged.
At that time, the ex-couple released a statement addressing their split before tensions escalated.
“I am not one for gossip; it bores me. This is from my heart. We did not break up; we followed our hearts, and that meant separating before things went south,” Lady Du expressed.
She shared that the relationship ended in 2021, clarifying that their aspirations diverged.
“So we are both happy with the decision, and we ask that you kindly respect it. It hasn’t affected any of us. Let it not affect you or make you sad.”
After the breakup, Andile also commented, attributing the issues in their relationship to external interference.
“Love is love; people break up if there are problems,” he stated, while suggesting that unnamed individuals complicated their relationship.
