DJ Lamiez’s son turns 3
South African DJ Lamiez Holworthy reflected on her son’s third birthday with a sentimental look back at the day he was born, expressing her emotions through social media.
The prominent figure in the entertainment industry disclosed that she viewed the unedited birth video of her son, Leano-Laone Zion Morule, for the very first time; the moment was deeply moving for her.
“Today is the first time I watched the raw unedited version of my birth video and I cried,” she shared.
Holworthy described her feelings of disbelief and gratitude during this moment, especially since she had once been concerned that motherhood might never be in her future following a miscarriage.
“I cried in disbelief. I cried because till this day I still do not feel worthy of a blessing as big as Leano-Laone,” she wrote.
She noted that after her earlier loss, she had unconsciously adopted the mindset that having children was unattainable.
However, everything changed on her 30th birthday, when she learned of her pregnancy.
Reflecting on the day of her son’s birth, Holworthy candidly discussed the anxiety she experienced right before her C-section.
She recalled feeling a sense of terror upon learning about the need for a catheter before the operation.
“Three years ago, I was in my hospital room, terrified because I had just been told about something called a catheter that needed to be inserted before my C-section,” she said.
The DJ further opened up about her fear during the administration of the epidural, admitting that despite her numerous tattoos, injections are a source of anxiety for her.
“Throw in the epidural which I needed to sit still for whilst I got huge needles injected into my spine and yes, I am terrified of injections,” she explained.
Holworthy confessed that she even encountered a panic attack prior to the surgery, struggling to catch her breath as concerns arose about the safe delivery of her baby.
Throughout this stressful time, her husband, hip-hop artist Khuli Chana, remained by her side, providing the necessary reassurance.
Ultimately, the fear and uncertainty were overshadowed by the joy of seeing her son for the first time.
“I finally got to see my answered prayer for the first time just after 10am,” she wrote.
In hindsight, Holworthy regards motherhood as one of her life’s most significant joys.
She proudly calls her son “the smartest, bravest and funniest little guy” she knows.
Additionally, she elaborated on the profound significance of his name, noting that it depicts the realization of a promise.
“We named him that because God kept His promise,” she said, indicating that his birth serves as a powerful testament to faith and divine assistance.
