Leipzig's Lukeba Ignites Transfer Frenzy Among Top European Clubs

Castello Lukeba is anticipated to depart RB Leipzig this summer as the 23-year-old is looking for fresh opportunities after spending three years with the club, Softfootball reports.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano disclosed through his official X account that Leipzig is willing to open discussions regarding Lukeba’s €80 million release clause, with sources indicating a potential agreement could be reached in the range of €65–70 million.

Romano stated:

Castello Lukeba, expected to leave RB Leipzig this summer with clubs on alert over potential move. The release clause worth €80m can be negotiated and the price can be lower. Leipzig are expected to consider bids as player wants new challenge, as @philipphinze24 reported.

The French centre-back has gained significant interest from elite European clubs, including Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain, owing to his poise on the ball and defensive acumen.

Leipzig has already begun making moves in the transfer market, with Sunderland securing an agreement to sign Lutsharel Geertruida on an initial loan deal with an option to buy, indicating a period of squad transformation at various clubs.

A former player of Olympique Lyonnais, Lukeba has established himself as one of the Bundesliga’s most dependable defenders since arriving in Germany. His left-footed style and capacity to initiate play from the back make him an attractive candidate for teams seeking to enhance their defensive lineup.

In other developments, Arsenal’s FA Cup journey ended in disappointment following a 2–1 loss to Southampton at St Mary’s. The defeat places additional pressure on the Gunners to find success in other competitions as the season nears its end.

As interest in Lukeba escalates, his future is likely to become a significant focus in the upcoming transfer window.
