  • Thami Ndlala, the husband of Lerato Kganyago, has filed a lawsuit against YouTuber and podcaster Mighti Jamie for R1 million
  • This legal action stems from statements made by Mighti Jamie on his YouTube platform, regarding testimony from Witness A at the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry
  • Following the news, social media users expressed a range of opinions after Musa Khawula highlighted the issue on Tuesday, 20 January 2026

Reactions erupted in South Africa in response to news that Lerato Kganyago’s spouse, Thami Ndlala, was pursuing a R1 million lawsuit against a YouTuber.

Lerato Kganyago garnered attention after being connected to the Luxe Hotel 12 On Hillel Villa and Spa as a result of testimony from Witness A at the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry, who described a gathering hosted by a police officer named Vusi Ndlala, which included senior officials.

Thami Ndlala files suit against Mighti Jamie for R1 million

On Tuesday, 20 January 2026, prominent celebrity gossip reporter Musa Khawula shared on X (Twitter) that Thami Ndlala and the Luxe Hotel 12 On Hillel Villa and Spa had approached the Johannesburg High Court in pursuit of R1 million from Mighti Jamie for defamation. The report included the following caption:

“The Sheriff of the High Court of South Africa gears to serve and summon Leon Mithi, otherwise known as Mightie Jamie. Mightie Jamie has been ordered to pay an amount of up to R1 million in a recent claim filed by Thami Ndlala.”

Check out the post here:

Mighti Jamie responded to the situation on his X account, hinting at the legal proceedings without directly referencing Ndlala. He posted a now-deleted message that suggested someone was attempting to use him to address unpaid municipal debts. The post read:

“Someone is trying to pay his Tshwane electricity bills through me.”

Public reactions follow Thami Ndlala’s lawsuit

In response to Musa Khawula’s announcement, various social media users expressed diverse opinions. Some criticized Thami Ndlala, suggesting that he was trying to gather funds to settle his overdue municipal bills, while others supported his decision to take legal action against Mighti Jamie.

Here are some notable comments:

@BhekuyiseM31516 stated:

“Musa, my friend, it’s still the beginning of the legal action. He is seeking an order for R1M, which he might or might not get at the conclusion of the trial.”

@Cliff_Hadji joked:

“We do understand, Mr Ndlala has a serious bill to settle ko Tshwane. Nkinga, he is targeting someone who may not be able to assist that much.”

@FemeaZ asked:

“What did he do?”

@FairJoyZA_ questioned:

“R1 million? How rich is Mighti Jamie guys?”

Reason behind the lawsuit against Mighti Jamie

Mighti Jamie, who is also known as Leon Mithi, addressed the incident in a video on his YouTube channel, Mighti Jamie TV. In that particular episode, he reviewed the witness’s statement and touched on allegations concerning Lerato Kganyago and Thami Ndlala’s ownership of the Luxe Hotel 12 On Hillel Villa and Spa.

Ndlala took issue with the video and subsequently contacted Mighti Jamie, asking for its removal along with any associated social media mentions.

This request followed the 12 On Hillel Villa and Spa’s statement, clarifying Lerato Kganyago’s official association with the venue.
