Shortly after assuming control of policing in Limpopo, Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Jan Scheepers has taken decisive action by joining officers in a foot chase that culminated in the arrest of an undocumented foreign national in Modimolle.
This timely intervention occurred while Scheepers was in the town with his management team, making unannounced visits to various police stations. During one such visit, he observed an officer in pursuit of a suspect on foot and promptly stopped his vehicle to provide assistance.
Instead of remaining an observer, the newly appointed commissioner exited his vehicle and actively participated in the chase, collaborating with officers on the ground until the suspect was apprehended.
The individual taken into custody was confirmed as an undocumented foreign national.
