LIMPOPO: Lt General Thembi Hadebe, the Provincial Police Commissioner, has made the decision to retire from the South African Police Service (SAPS), following the non-renewal of her contract set to take effect on 01 May 2026.
This announcement came during a meeting with various stakeholders of SAPS in the Vhembe District on Thursday.
Hadebe holds the distinction of being the first woman to serve as a provincial police commissioner in Limpopo.
She took over the role from Lt General Nneke Ledwaba on 1 May 2021.
Throughout her 40-year career, she has held numerous command positions.
Beginning her service in 1986, she has earned a diploma in Police Administration, a B Tech Degree in Policing, and an LLB from Unisa.
