Produced by Johannesburg’s Stay Low Records, the 13-track album follows Marcus Harvey’s well-received 2024 release Now You Know Me. The album is both written and performed by Lawrence Harvey Mashiloane, with Vaughn Thiel serving as executive producer and Jordan Klem handling the mixing and mastering.
The journey begins with the personal “Rebecca’s Prayer [Intro]”, crafted by Sundaeb Beats, which establishes an emotional connection right from the start. Following this, Harvey navigates a rich blend of soul, R&B, and contemporary South African sounds.
The album features a distinguished lineup of collaborators. American rapper Mick Jenkins contributes to the evocative “Come to Me”, while Blk Odyssey is featured on “Turtle Doves”. Additionally, Kush brings an extra layer to the multilingual aspect of the album with the Xitsonga-influenced “Ndži Lava Ku China”.
