Marcus Harvey's 'Fountains': A Sneak Peek at His Upcoming February Short FilmMarcus Harvey Unveils One-Take “Fountains” Short Film Scheduled For February Launch

In an Instagram post, the Johannesburg-based artist shared the phrase “O kitimiša pelo yaka”, a poignant line from his song “Fountains.” In essence, it conveys a heart that is emotionally charged, resonating with themes of passion and longing that are integral to Harvey’s musical identity.

He proceeded to announce the continuation of the song’s narrative, stating: “Fountains one-take Short Film dropping Wed, 6 Feb 2026. Love to my @levis_africa @levis and @thebreadsa family for holding me down on this one.”

This post suggests both a conclusion and a new chapter. Harvey, known as Harvey Mashiloane and hailing from Alexandra township, has gradually garnered a dedicated following through his intimate storytelling intertwining R&B, hip hop, and soulful elements.

His previous visual endeavor for “Fountains” featured an animated music video released in 2023, directed by Neo Shingwenyana, as part of the You Still Don’t Know Me series, which explored themes of vulnerability, love, and self-exploration.

This upcoming release transitions the song into a fresh visual format. Designed as a one-take short film, it aims to offer a seamless and engaging experience, allowing the feelings of “Fountains” to unfold naturally. The continuous shot aims to amplify the emotional depth, captivating viewers without interruption.

The short film receives support from prominent partners including Levi’s Africa, Levi’s, and The Bread SA, indicating Harvey’s emerging role at the junction of music, fashion, and visual arts. His independent label STAY LOW, which he co-owns, actively encourages his creative vision and engaged approach.

The premiere is set for Wednesday, 6 February 2026, with excitement building rapidly on social media platforms. With a history of successful projects and collaborations with artists like A-Reece and Maglera Doe Boy, this release could mark a pivotal moment in Harvey’s exploration of the realms of music and film.
