Michaely Bihina, the goalkeeper for Cameroon, has claimed the title of African Goal Queen following an exceptional display at the WAFCON.
Softfootball reports that the 22-year-old made an impressive four penalty saves in the semi-final match against Morocco, including one during extra time and three more in the penalty shootout, solidifying her reputation as Africa’s premier goalkeeper.
Bihina also showcased her skills in Cameroon’s 1–0 victory over Nigeria in the quarter-final of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, where her remarkable performance helped the Indomitable Lionesses remain in contention for the title.
These consecutive Woman of the Match awards have put the Benfica player in a strong position for significant accolades. She appears to be on her way to being included in the Team of the Tournament, earning the title of Best Goalkeeper of WAFCON 2026, and receiving nominations for both CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year and CAF Women’s Player of the Year.
