Mpumelelo “Sbindi” Mseleku, the son of polygamist Musa Mseleku, has become a topic of discussion following his frank comments on the Bhinca Nation podcast aired on Wednesday, 7 October 2026. In the episode, he made various claims regarding his co-parenting arrangement with former partner Vuyokazi Nciweni, with whom he has two children.
Sbindi and Vuyokazi were in a relationship for over two years before parting ways in mid-2024. Their separation reportedly stemmed from his desires for a polygamous lifestyle, accusations of infidelity, and conflicts.
During the podcast, Sbindi asserted that following the end of their romantic relationship, Vuyokazi entirely severed his access to their children.
“When the children were taken, communication was closed,” he stated.
He further claimed she has not contributed financially to their upbringing, describing her response to inquiries about financial support as a mere thumbs-up emoji: “She doesn’t put in money. It’s me who asks, ‘Now are you getting money?’ But the person sends a thumbs-up emoji.”
The Izingane Zesthembu star mentioned that eventually, he ceased sending any financial support, expressing doubt about whether his contributions could even qualify as maintenance.
“I sent money to a person who isn’t here anymore. This person no longer exists in my life. I can no longer continue putting money in,” he explained.
Sbindi, who also works as a car salesman, noted that upon stopping his financial contributions, Vuyokazi accused him publicly of neglecting the children. He recounted that his parents advised him to take on his responsibilities, but he countered with a playful remark, “They will never smell it,” confirming his unwillingness to recommence payments. His rationale? He has lost track of his children’s whereabouts. “I don’t know where they are anymore,” he stated.
Mzansi comments on Sbindi Mseleku’s claims about co-parenting
Although the former couple appeared to maintain cordial relations at their daughter’s recent birthday celebration, social media users expressed dissatisfaction with his comments. Many observed that legal measures exist for scenarios like his, advocating that withdrawing from child support was not a viable solution.
The criticism emerged after Mpumelelo shared screenshots of his video calls with his children. Vuyokazi publicly voiced her annoyance about the screenshots going viral, indicating that they presented a misleading narrative concerning his involvement in their lives.
She noted that the significant detail was that his last communications with the kids had happened months prior to the posting. Her statements implied that the screenshots were shared for appearances rather than reflecting a consistent relationship with his children.
Feedback from social media regarding this co-parenting situation included:
Ntebo_Tsehla stated:
“Go to court and get a custody agreement. Men act like courts are the plague. If anything, your continued child maintenance will help you in your argument to get custody. I hate how men will cry, ‘She doesn’t want to give me the kids,’ but don’t use the resources available.”
kuhlobile_D wrote:
“Men will easily stop supporting their children and accept that they are no longer in communication with their kids instead of filing for shared custody.”
Others recalled Tirelo Kale, Sbindi’s wife, who had previously accused him of not fulfilling his financial obligations to his children.
Mahlogonolo_Se remarked:
“Tirelo has already told us that he doesn’t provide. There is nothing he will say that will justify whatever it is he is trying to justify.”
Thereal_Shazz questioned:
“Why didn’t he support Tirelo’s child, ’cause they are still together?”
20072010MissB added:
“Mpumelelo doesn’t provide, not even to Tirelo and Amahle’s kids, so he must not come here and lie about Vuyo as if he was supporting the children when we know that he doesn’t provide for any of his kids. Even MaYeni was complaining to Musa that Mpumelelo doesn’t give her money for the children.”
