Observing someone discuss their grief while with a new partner can elicit a complex emotional response. This scenario occurred recently on the podcast All The Smoke, where Nadia Nakai openly spoke about her healing process after the passing of rapper AKA, known as Kenan Forbes, while her current boyfriend Toss sat beside her.
Nadia opens up on the podcast
This episode aired on the Podcast and Chill Network on 18 September 2026 and featured an intimate discussion captured in a relaxed, neon-lit environment. When asked how she was coping with the grief of losing “one of the loves of her life,” Nadia was forthcoming.
“Honestly, I’m in a very good place. But I feel like healing doesn’t have an end date. I think there’ll be days I’m having a really good day and there’ll be days I’ll just have a memory and I’ll feel a little bit sad.”
She further elaborated that she feels more like herself now, defining her true nature as being cheerful and approachable. She added:
“I’ve always been an actually happy person and love a girl, a smiley person. And I’m feeling the most that person now.”
The complete episode was scheduled to air on the Podcast and Chill Network at 8 PM on 18 September 2026. As the discussion shifted to therapy, Nadia pointed at Toss and remarked with humor:
“He’s my therapy.”
