- MacG has gained attention on social media after being accused of hypocrisy in his defense of Anele Mdoda while criticizing Cyan Boujee, both of whom are facing scandals.
- The husband of the 947 radio host, Bonelela ‘Buzza’ Mgudlwa, has been ordered to reimburse millions linked to an alleged illegal COVID-19 PPE tender deal.
- Meanwhile, Cyan Boujee’s name has come up due to her reported relationship with Ekurhuleni City Manager Kagiso Lerutla, who was arrested on fraud charges.
MacG, a podcaster from South Africa, faced backlash for what many perceived as double standards in his response to the controversies surrounding Anele Mdoda and Cyan Boujee.
In relation to the arrest of Kagiso Lerutla on April 20, 2026, at OR Tambo International Airport, connections between Cyan Boujee and other figures in the country have surfaced, putting a focus on her recent residence.
MacG’s comments on Anele Mdoda
MacG and his co-host Sol Phenduka rallied to defend Anele after the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) mandated that Bonelela Mgudlwa and his business associate, Katleho Mokonyane, return R14.3 million due to an improper COVID-19 PPE tender. They argued that Anele likely was unaware of Buzza’s activities, emphasizing her reputed professionalism and that she would not jeopardize her standing for anyone.
“Do you know how meticulous Anele is? Everything is strategic. Even now, she has a five-year plan of what her life would look like. Do you think someone that meticulous would let that slide?” MacG asked. “I think maybe she was too desperate for love, but knowing Anele, she wouldn’t have subscribed to this,” MacG said.
MacG’s criticism of Cyan Boujee
Conversely, Cyan Boujee did not receive the same support. After she purchased a R10 million house, MacG contended that it was improbable she could afford it without a verified income.
“No, man, she doesn’t even have a pay slip. Come on now. You need a pay slip to show that this money is coming in,” MacG said, noting that her usual practice of documenting significant events did not include this purchase.
“Cyan Boujee vlogs everything. Trust me. If she were buying a house, she would blog a house shopping thing,” MacG added.
MacG also encouraged Cyan to present a title deed, asserting, “People must post the title deed, bro. It’s simple,” he said.
Social media reacts to MacG
Users on X highlighted MacG’s inconsistent treatment of the two women during his commentary.
@ChrisExcel102 remarked:
“Sol Phenduka and my Goat MacG defended Anele Mdoda and bashed Cyan Boujee the following for the same reasons. This level of hypocrisy must be studied in Hamanskraal College.”
@TheGyal_ replied:
“When McG spoke about how it was a bad move for Cyan Boujie to post her new house, y’all said he’s hating. Now her accounts are all frozen, and she’s being deactivated left and right.”
@JustVibes3xt commented:
“But Anele doesn’t flaunt her life like that, plus she’s from wealth. In their defence.”
@SebopeThapelo noted:
“They’re gonna say Anele worked for everything she has; however, remember even our number citizen has billions, yet he was found with millions of foreign currency under a sofa zobaphi. It was so funny listening to their reasoning and their school of thought.”
