Shauwn Mkhize Faces Asset Auctions with Disappointing Bid Results

Shauwn Mkhize

Shauwn “MaMkhize” Mkhize is encountering significant financial difficulties as the South African Revenue Service proceeds with the auctioning of her assets to recover unpaid taxes.

After raising R5.6 million in previous sales in October, a subsequent auction occurred from 18 to 19 November 2025, featuring an extensive variety of her personal belongings and luxury items.

The online bidding commenced on 14 November, showcasing an array of goods from premium electronics to standard household appliances. Items on offer included numerous flat-screen televisions, fashionable furniture, decorative objects, and musical instruments.

Reports from News24 indicated that some bids were surprisingly low. For instance, one television received a bid of R0 by Wednesday afternoon.

Nonetheless, certain items attracted more interest. An 85-inch Samsung TV had a leading bid of R9,800, while a 70-inch LG TV reached R7,100.

Additional large-screen TVs from manufacturers like LG, Hisense, and Samsung were included in the auction, though their bids were not particularly impressive.

Two Clavitech electric grand pianos also garnered attention; notably, a damaged black piano received a bid of R42,600.

The functional white piano was bid up to R49,600. A complete studio setup, featuring a keyboard, speakers, subwoofers, and a mixer, was also auctioned, likely belonging to her son, Andile Mpisane.

Other items of entertainment, such as a bazooka Bluetooth speaker and illuminated ice buckets, were part of the offerings.

Many household items sold for unexpectedly low prices. A DStv Explora decoder fetched just R20, while basic appliances like a heater and a toaster went for R50 each.

Mirror-finished tables and cabinets varied in price, with damaged pieces starting at R0, while those in better condition reached up to R2,500.

This auction represents a continuing effort by SARS to recover millions allegedly owed by the businesswoman and reality television personality, as she loses more elements of her opulent lifestyle through public sale.
