Lekompo artist Shebeshxt is adapting his strategy as he navigates a setback in his bail situation.
Born Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke, he will remain incarcerated for a while longer following the failure of his third bail plea. Now that his case has been transferred to the Limpopo High Court in Polokwane, it will be overseen by senior counsel Advocate Laurence Hodes SC.
As a result of Hodes’ recent appointment, the bail application has been removed from the court schedule, allowing him to thoroughly review the documentation related to the case.
Shebeshxt was detained in November 2025 and is facing multiple charges. On Friday, 15 May 2026, he appeared at the Polokwane Regional Court, where he was hit with 11 new charges, raising the total to 20.
Now, with the Senior Counsel’s appointment, Shebeshxt’s bail application will need to await a new court date.
