- South African Skeem Saam actress Amanda Manku’s father has recently made serious allegations against law enforcement
- The 53-year-old ex-police officer, accused of murdering his wife and mother-in-law, stated that he was coerced into confessing to the crime
- Manku’s father also recounted the events surrounding his arrest in detail
The situation involving Skeem Saam actress Amanda Manku and her murder accused father, William, continues to develop, as new allegations from the actress’s father have startled many observers.
According to the Daily Sun, William Manku gave testimony on Thursday, 16 October 2025, at the Polokwane High Court in Limpopo, stating that officers at Magatle pressured him to admit to a crime he insists he did not commit.
The 63-year-old, who faces accusations of killing his wife and mother-in-law in 2021, provided details about the circumstances of his arrest.
“When I got to Magatle, they took me to the holding cells, then a police officer came and called me aside, wanting to know if I wanted to go to prison for a long time for the crime I was accused of, and my answer was that I wouldn’t go to prison because I did nothing wrong,” he said in court.
Manku alleged that rather than listening to his account, the law enforcement officer opted to intimidate him into confessing.
He elaborated:
“He said I was stupid, and they told me to confess. The officer further said that if I did, he was going to make sure that my girlfriend gets released, and I would also get a lesser sentence.”
Amanda Manku took action against her father
In May 2025, Briefly News reported that Amanda Manku was advocating for justice for her mother and grandmother, who were violently killed. The actress previously shared on social media in January 2024 that three individuals had been taken into custody in connection with the murders of her family members.
The Skeem Saam actress was anticipated to testify against her father as the murder trial progressed. Amanda Manku was not the sole witness; multiple others allegedly provided harrowing accounts of the events of that tragic day.
