MaWhoo, Sithelo Shozi and Cyan Boujee are currently under scrutiny following their mention in a widely shared post on X that suggests the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) should examine their financial activities.
The issue arose shortly after the detention of Kagiso Michael Lerutla, the City Manager of Ekurhuleni, at OR Tambo International Airport, creating a wave of speculation across social media platforms.
As discussions gained momentum, one X user took the initiative to directly tag the SIU, requesting an investigation into the activities of the three individuals, while sharing photos of them with expensive vehicles.
This post raised suspicions regarding the potential connection between their extravagant lifestyles and alleged misappropriated public funds; however, no evidence has been offered to support this claim.
The user wrote: “Dear @RSASIU, In the matter of Kagiso Lerutla: Please also look into the bank accounts of ‘Mahwoo’, ‘Sithelo’ and ‘Cyan Boujee’. Their real names are Thandeka Ngema, Sithelo Shozi and Honour Zuma. Check what assets or properties were bought in their names using stolen public funds received from Lerutla.”
The post rapidly spread, provoking varied reactions online.
Some individuals supported the notion of a detailed review, while others deemed it as unfounded speculation prompted by assumptions regarding the lifestyles of influencers.
This situation has also reignited dialogue concerning Cyan Boujee, who has recently deactivated her social media profiles, which further contributes to speculation and associations with the ongoing affair.
At present, there has been no formal acknowledgment of any investigation involving these individuals, and the allegations remain as unverified claims circulating on social media.
