David Sejobe Hit-and-Run Vehicle Identified

In a notable display of solidarity, South Africans have rallied to support the family of security officer and cyclist David Sejobe, who tragically passed away, raising over R540,000 within a week.

Sejobe, aged 49, worked as a security guard at the front desk of MultiChoice in Randburg. He lost his life when a vehicle struck him while he was cycling to work last week.

Authorities are looking into the case, treating it as a suspected hit-and-run.

The news of Sejobe’s passing has led to an outpouring of grief, especially among commuters and colleagues who appreciated his friendly demeanor and infectious smile.

A BackaBuddy campaign was established shortly after his death and quickly surpassed its initial target of R20,000.

Contributions have come from across the nation, ranging from smaller amounts to more significant donations, highlighting the impact Sejobe had on those around him.

The money raised will help cover funeral expenses and provide essential support for his widow and children during this challenging time.

Sejobe was interred yesterday in his home village of Ha-Mashamba, Mukondeni in Limpopo, where a large gathering of mourners came together to honor his memory.

Friends, family, and colleagues remembered him as a kind and generous individual whose presence enriched the lives of many.

His family expressed their deep gratitude for the significant support received, stating that the love and kindness shown by South Africans have offered them comfort as they cope with their loss.
