According to Ahmed Shobeir, a former Egyptian player and current media figure, Mamelodi Sundowns and Pyramids are engaged in serious discussions regarding a transfer for Lucas Ribeiro.

‘Blockbuster Deal’
“Honestly, if Pyramids secures this player, it would be a blockbuster deal and a significant boost to their squad, particularly as they are seeking a new winger to take the place of Ibrahim Adel.”

Ribeiro, a Brazilian attacker, had an outstanding season with Sundowns, contributing to their victory in the Betway Premiership for the eighth consecutive year.

He also found the net against Pyramids in the CAF Champions League final, although ultimately it was the Egyptian team that claimed the title, winning 3-2 on aggregate over Masandawana.
This season, Ribeiro has received nominations for the two top awards in the Premier Soccer League—the PSL Footballer of the Season Award and the Betway Premiership Players’ Player of the Season Award. He concluded the season as the top scorer in the Premiership, netting 16 goals.
