During the sixth season of Big Brother Mzansi, which concluded on Sunday, 22 March 2026, Thandeka and Mmeli were one of the prominent couples.
After his eviction, Mmeli made his feelings for Thandeka known. Fans were eagerly awaiting for Thandeka to announce whether she would be pursuing a relationship with him beyond the Big Brother Mzansi house.
Following her second-place finish to Liema, Thandeka participated in an interview with Sowetan where she discussed both her defeat and her connection with Mmeli.
Thandeka acknowledges genuine feelings for Mmeli
In response to questions about her relationship, Thandeka characterized it as authentic, separate from her game strategy while in the Big Brother Mzansi Bazozwa Edition house. She shared her eagerness to meet with Mmeli following the end of the show.
“Yes, I found love. I didn’t come in looking for it, but Mmeli and I built something real, talking about communication, balance, dominance and submission, and we kept a childlike wonder type of relationship. We would hug, kiss, play around … and yeah, we fell in love. I can’t wait to see him,” Thandeka said.
The KwaZulu-Natal native was also inquired about the friendships she established while in the house. She revealed her closest friend from the reality television series. Thandeka expressed that she intended to maintain a few friendships beyond the Bazozwa house.
“Definitely, Ramona, she’s a true friend. We were real with each other. Funnily enough, Ilano, Tumi the Barber and Que, even though there were hiccups, but we reconciled. I take real, honest friendships with me,” Thandeka revealed.

She also took the opportunity to extend her gratitude to fans who supported her throughout the competition.
Thandeka elaborated on her intentions regarding whether she would remain in South Africa or head back to Italy, as well as her plans moving forward now that Big Brother Mzansi has concluded.
“I plan to split my time between Europe (Italy) and SA. I want to explore opportunities, inspire people and focus on business, growth and money. I love working; I don’t like relying on anyone,” Thandeka said.
