Back to the City International Festival has announced the inclusion of the iconic Trompies in the 2026 program for the festival’s Heritage Slot.
The Heritage Slot pays tribute to the sounds and artists that have influenced South African music and culture, making it a fitting tribute to a group whose Kwaito hits have resonated with a whole generation.Alongside Trompies, the festival will feature Slum Village, Blu & Exile, Just Sam, Mfana Touchline, Lacabra, and Tshego Santana, creating a diverse line-up that brings together various generations and musical styles.
The Back to the City 2026 festival is scheduled for 10 October at Mary Fitzgerald Square in Newtown, Johannesburg.
