A significant update has surfaced in the investigation into the murder of DJ Warras. One of the two individuals accused has been officially charged with premeditated murder.
Victor Mthethwa Majola faced the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court, where he was charged regarding the death of the well-known DJ, whose legal name was Warrick Stock.
The court heard that Majola will stay in custody while investigations proceed, with the next hearing set for 6 January 2026.
At that next appearance, Majola is expected to request bail, a motion the prosecution has indicated it will contest.
Charges against a second suspect, who was initially arrested with Majola, have been temporarily dropped.
DJ Warras was tragically shot in Johannesburg’s central business district on Tuesday, 16 December 2025, an event that shocked the entertainment sector and the community at large.
The case has drawn increased interest after Majola’s court appearance, as his identity has now been revealed.
Reports indicate that Majola was taken for interrogation earlier in the week before the formal charges were made.
Law enforcement agencies have confirmed that investigations remain active and any new findings will be presented in court.
News of the new charges quickly became a topic on social media, provoking a wide range of reactions from the public.
Numerous users expressed their outrage, sorrow, and calls for accountability for the slain DJ.
A statement circulating online confirmed: “DJ WARRAS | One of the two accused in the murder of Warrick Stock will return to court on 06 January for a bail application. The accused will remain in police custody.”
