Zandie Khumalo Backs Jub Jub Against Kelly's Allegations of Parental Alienation

Zandie Khumalo says Jub Jub and Kelly are stubborn about their son’s case

Artist Zandie Khumalo-Gumede recently addressed the ongoing situation regarding Jub Jub and his claims about being unable to see his son, Christian, who is the child of musician Kelly Khumalo.

On November 2, the Ndikhokhele Remix rapper shared his frustrations through an Instagram post, discussing years of feeling rejected and his failed attempts to connect with his child.

He alleged that Kelly has prevented him from being part of their son’s life, despite his willingness to contribute both emotionally and financially.

“I don’t want to go to court fighting over this,” Jub Jub said.

“You know how many times I’ve tried to get hold of you to reach my son. You know how many times your sister [Zandie], [Mhlo] Gumede, and your mother have been trying to talk about this so I can have access to my son. You’re controlling my son as if he’s an AI. I’m not a deadbeat dad.”

He went on to say that he had attempted to send gifts to his son while incarcerated, but they were returned to him.

“I’ve tried every possible way to do the right thing, even offering to pay damages and perform the necessary cultural rites, but I keep getting blocked,” he stated.

The history of their relationship goes back to their early romance in the late 2000s, which unraveled following Jub Jub’s conviction related to a fatal car accident that took the lives of four schoolchildren in 2010.

During his time in prison, Kelly raised their son by herself, and the two have remained distant since then.

Zandie has recently confirmed in an interview that her brother-in-law has made numerous attempts to improve his relationship with their son.

She felt the need to speak out since the situation involves her nephew, whom she cares for deeply.

“Normally, I wouldn’t comment on this, but because it concerns Christian, I feel compelled to speak up,” she explained.

“I care about my nephew deeply and treat him as my child. When it comes to him, no one can tell me what to do.”

Zandie noted that she and their mother had previously tried to facilitate discussions between the two parents, but their attempts were unsuccessful.

“At one point, my mother and I were mediating discussions, but unfortunately nothing came of it,” she said.

“Molemo also wanted to come and pay damages at home. He even spoke to my husband, Gumede, who then spoke to my mother. Sadly, that too didn’t work out due to a lack of cooperation on our side.”

While carefully choosing her words, Zandie remarked that both Jub Jub and Kelly must share accountability for the ongoing issues.

“Molemo and Kelly still have unresolved issues, which are clear from their public feuds. I don’t want to get into details, but Molemo has genuinely been trying and keeps getting rejected,” she said.

Furthermore, she disclosed that her nephew has expressed a wish to reunite with his father, but she cannot take action without Kelly’s approval.

“I’ve also spoken to Christian about his father; it’s clear he wants to see him, but I cannot take him to his father without his mother’s permission. Both Molemo and Kelly are at fault. They have hurt each other deeply, and they need to resolve their issues first before they can co-parent effectively,” she concluded.
