The music artist Zee Nxumalo has ignited discussions online following her response to the results of the Metro FM Music Awards 2026.
After the event, the musician expressed her bewilderment on X, particularly given the success of her recent project.
“God you’re confusing me… I just lost 7 awards but my new EP is doing WELL… What must happen?” she wrote.
Zee recently launched her EP Izinja Zam, which has quickly risen on streaming platforms and been recognized as one of the top albums shortly after its debut.
Her statements received a variety of reactions on social media. Some users offered their support, while others criticized her views.
One commenter mentioned, “you don’t have a rich father with connections in the music industry. when you don’t have connections things will unfortunately take longer for you and you will have to work 10 x harder. Kuyolunga ngelinye ilanga. South Africa loves you.”

A more critical perspective was shared, stating, “I listen to Metro FM almost every day, and truth be told you didn’t deserve to win any award. You got what you deserved. Metro FM has nothing to do with charts, SAMAs does.”
