Zozibini Tunzi Champions Zimbabwe’s Aspirations for Miss Universe

Zozibini Tunzi: A Beacon of Hope for Zimbabwe's Miss Universe Dreams

Zozibini Tunzi, the 2019 Miss Universe, has touched down in Zimbabwe in anticipation of the grand finale of Miss Universe Zimbabwe, set to take place in Harare on Saturday.

Tunzi, who is set to co-host the esteemed pageant, expressed her enthusiasm about visiting Zimbabwe for the first time and participating in an event that honors young women who are committed to making a difference in their communities.

Addressing the media after her arrival, the South African beauty queen regarded this visit as a significant chance to support women who leverage their platforms to effect positive change.

“I am incredibly excited and this is my first time in Zimbabwe,” she said.

“So to be able to come in such a beautiful way to support women. I’m a great supporter of women, especially women who are on a mission to change the world, to change lives and to change our beautiful continent.”

Tunzi supports Africa’s future Miss Universe

Tunzi also conveyed her hope that Africa might soon see another winner of the Miss Universe title.

The South African made headlines when she earned the Miss Universe crown in 2019, marking her as the third South African woman to achieve this honor and gaining international acclaim for advocating natural beauty, diversity, and the empowerment of women.

She pointed out that since her victory, no African nation has produced a Miss Universe winner and feels it is an opportune moment for the continent to reclaim the title.

“We haven’t had a Miss Universe from Africa in a little while now since I was the last one. I think it’s time,” she said.

Tunzi mentioned that it would be a significant achievement for Zimbabwe to crown the next Miss Universe.

“It would be such a beautiful thing to have one from Zimbabwe,” she said.

Words for the finalists

With the anticipation ramping up prior to the finale, Tunzi urged the contestants to remain true to themselves and concentrate on their goals.

She encouraged the finalists to appreciate their authenticity instead of conforming to outside expectations.

According to Tunzi, succeeding in pageantry goes beyond mere aesthetics; it revolves around confidence, belief in oneself, and a dedication to contributing positively to society.

This advice coincides with the finalists’ preparations to vie for the national crown and the chance to represent Zimbabwe on the global stage.

The winner of Miss Universe Zimbabwe will move forward to represent the nation at the upcoming Miss Universe competition, carrying with them the hopes of local pageant enthusiasts who aspire to see Zimbabwe achieve success on the world platform.
