Shebeshxt is facing scrutiny after allegedly shooting a driver during a road rage incident in Limpopo.
Rapper Shebeshxt, whose real name is Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke, is reportedly involved in a serious legal situation following an incident in Polokwane Tuesday evening, where he allegedly shot another motorist during an argument.
Reports suggest that the dispute stemmed from an argument about reckless driving on one of Polokwane’s busy roads.
What began as a verbal disagreement escalated swiftly into a violent confrontation.
According to information from sources, the motorist was hit in the upper body and subsequently taken to a local hospital, where he is in critical condition.
“The motorist was rushed to a local hospital, where he is fighting for his life. He is apparently in the intensive care unit,” said a source who wished to remain anonymous.
Witnesses report that Shebeshxt, known for his track Ambulance, had pulled into a nearby gas station when the other driver confronted him.
Both individuals exited their vehicles, leading to a violent exchange.
The rapper allegedly drew a weapon and shot the motorist before leaving the scene.
The situation was reported at the Westenburg Police Station, where an attempted murder case was initiated against the artist.
It is said that Shebeshxt later turned himself in to authorities through his attorneys and was briefly held in custody.
However, the case took an unexpected turn when officers from the provincial police headquarters intervened and ordered his release.
“They took the docket from the Westenburg Police Station and said the matter is being investigated by the murder and robbery unit. They will obtain statements from Shebeshxt and the victim once investigations have been completed,” an insider revealed.
The decision to let the rapper go has reportedly upset the victim’s family, who are concerned about the potential lack of justice.
The source conveyed that the family is feeling frustrated and has expressed that they might take action if this situation continues without resolution.
Authorities in Limpopo confirmed they are handling an attempted murder case related to the incident, which occurred on October 19, 2025.
Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, a spokesperson for the provincial police, stated that the murder and robbery unit has assumed responsibility for the case at the direction of Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe.
“The police have a person of interest, and once investigations are complete, they will take the necessary actions. The investigation has been intensified, and an arrest is imminent at this stage,” Ledwaba remarked.
