DJ Warras
New information suggests that Warrick “DJ Warras” Stock had significant concerns regarding his personal safety shortly before his death in Johannesburg’s central business district.
The well-known radio host and television personality was shot and killed on December 16, 2025, near the junction of Commissioner Street and Von Wielligh Street.
As law enforcement continues its inquiry, reports indicate that DJ Warras had been receiving death threats for over a week prior to the incident.
Information from eNCA suggests that these threats led Stock to seek legal avenues for his protection.
He reportedly secured protection orders against five individuals residing at the Zambezi Building in the Johannesburg CBD.
One of these orders was allegedly granted just days before his death.
At the time of the incident, DJ Warras was said to be at the building for work connected to his security firm.
The security company had been hired to help secure the property, amid rising concerns regarding hijacked buildings in the area.
Sources indicate that the individuals named in the protection orders had ties to the Zambezi Building, which Stock had been examining shortly before the fatal encounter.
The emergence of this information has led to further inquiries into a possible connection between the earlier threats and his murder.
Authorities have confirmed that their investigation is ongoing, with officers reviewing CCTV footage from the vicinity as they seek to determine the events leading up to the killing.
No arrests have been made yet, and law enforcement has not provided confirmation regarding the aforementioned protection orders.
