South African artist Toya Delazy, currently residing in the United Kingdom, has expressed concerns about her ability to return home for an interview on Podcast and Chill.
On social media platform X, she noted that while she received an invitation to the well-known podcast, financial constraints related to international travel are a significant hurdle.
“I’m invited to podcast & chill manje inking is that I’m overseas and Kerosene is so expensive because of the war (I fly home once a year if I’m lucky) – can you guys xhasa the bhanoyi ✈️,” she posted, seeking help to organize her travel.
She mentioned that while participating online is an option, it lacks the same effectiveness as being present in the studio and called on her fans to support her trip.
“Otherwise we doing it online which isn’t the same as being in the studio,” she reiterated.
In addition to her travel plea, Toya reflected on her position within the music scene, claiming that she has been overlooked despite past accomplishments.
“I’m Toya Delazy and I was once the biggest artist in Africa, now I’m the most misunderstood artist in Africa,” she remarked.
Toya also shared that her new EP is scheduled for release on May 20, indicating that she is financing this project independently while continuing to advance her music career from abroad.
Her statements have led to varied responses online, with supporters voicing encouragement, while others engaged in discussions regarding her statements about her career and the music industry.
