Documentation from the court reportedly suggests that Sodi may risk losing his luxury apartment in Dainfern due to nearly two years of unpaid levies.
The body corporate for Borgo de Felice is allegedly requesting nearly R500,000, which includes interest as well as legal fees. Sources indicate that the unit has been unoccupied, with trustees claiming they have been unsuccessful in contacting him for a significant time.
This situation is another addition to Sodi’s long list of financial issues.
Previous reports noted that he had been mandated to pay over R500,000 in outstanding luxury expenses, which involved lavish hotel stays in London and high-end shopping.
His business ventures have also encountered obstacles, with NJR Projects, recently rebranded as G5 Group, reportedly entering liquidation after failing to settle a debt of R1.2 million.
On the personal front, he is claimed to owe Hollard Insurance around R50 million.
In addition to these financial troubles, Sodi has frequently been mentioned in connection to significant corruption probes, including investigations into the Free State asbestos project and the disputed Rooiwal wastewater upgrade, which is related to the cholera outbreak in Hammanskraal.
Despite the increasing allegations and legal challenges, Sodi has often projected an image associated with wealth, luxurious properties, and an extravagant lifestyle.
However, the recent events seem to reveal a stark disparity between his public persona and the financial struggles that are coming to light in court documents and news reports.
