Grammy-winning artist Anthony Hamilton has arrived in South Africa, where he received a warm welcome from Johannesburg.
The musician touched down at O.R. Tambo International Airport on Tuesday as he prepares for his highly awaited performance in Durban this weekend.
Shortly after his arrival, he took to Instagram to express his appreciation for the reception he received.
“Touched down in Joburg last night… OR Tambo, you sure know how to welcome a man home,” he wrote.
The accompanying video shows Hamilton interacting with airport security, taking photos with fans, and enjoying the lively atmosphere.
Wearing a cap that read “Country Boy,” the celebrated performer appeared at ease and genuinely touched by the enthusiastic welcome.
Adding a personal connection, Hamilton identified himself as “Mzwandile”, a name from the Xhosa culture meaning “the family has grown”, expressing that South Africa feels like home and that he feels fulfilled.
During his stay in Johannesburg, he also visited Emperors Palace, where he had dinner at the upscale Reign Restaurant.
Hamilton’s visit comes amid a trend of international stars openly commending Johannesburg.
