Softfootball has reported that Arsenal has finalized the acquisition of goalkeeper Illan Meslier after he successfully passed his medical examination and signed a contract with the club.
This transfer aligns with Arsenal’s ongoing efforts to revamp their roster this summer. This follows Besiktas securing an agreement with Arsenal to acquire Leandro Trossard for €18 million, with an additional €2 million in performance-related bonuses.
Meslier, 26, arrives as a free agent after his contract with Leeds United ended last month, adding considerable Premier League experience to Mikel Arteta’s team.
The French goalkeeper made 215 appearances over six seasons at Elland Road and played a pivotal role in Leeds United’s promotions to the Premier League in 2020 and 2025.

Expected to enhance the squad’s depth, Meslier will take over from Tommy Setford as Arsenal’s third-choice goalkeeper, joining David Raya and Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Transfer analyst Fabrizio Romano confirmed the finalization of Meslier’s deal on Wednesday morning, with the goalkeeper preparing for the 2026/27 season in North London.
