After Bruno Fernandes matched the Premier League single-season assist record in Manchester United’s 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest, both Fernandes and Casemiro offered their thoughts on the emotional match at Old Trafford.
Softfootball reports that this victory secured a third-place finish for Manchester United in the league and bolstered the positive trend under interim manager Michael Carrick.
In a post-match interview shared on the club’s YouTube channel, Fernandes remarked that while United played well overall, periods of decreased concentration did impact the game. The Portuguese midfielder noted that the team struggled with aggression in the first half but made significant improvements after halftime.

Fernandes commended the team’s performance in the second half, emphasizing the improved intensity and control that allowed Manchester United to secure a vital victory at home:
We played really well, we lacked a little bit of focus on one moment where they end up scoring one goal, then the other one on a counter where I think it was a fall in the beginning on me but I think overall in the first half we were not aggressive enough without the ball but the second half we were a little bit better and with the ball we were also much aggressive in the second half to get into possessions and to score goals.
His assist in this match also allowed him to equal the single-season assist record in the Premier League, highlighting his crucial role for the club this season.
Casemiro expressed deep emotions as this marked his final game at Old Trafford, having confirmed his departure from Manchester United as a free agent in June.

The Brazilian midfielder expressed gratitude for his four years at the club, reflecting on the enjoyment he found in Manchester despite facing several challenges:
Unbelievable finish after the four years. So I just say thank you very much. Thank you for everything. I enjoyed it. I enjoyed the last four years of my career. I need to say thank you for everything.
